Queenstown is a cosmopolitan town with a welcoming, vibrant energy that resonates across the resort — and at no time is this more obvious than in winter! Skiers and snowboarders take to the slopes, and guests, visitors, and those just curious about snow gather here to lap up the fun.

Every year from early June onwards, the region transforms into a winter wonderland —attracting snow sports enthusiasts from around the world, drawn to its incredible lake and alpine scenery, crisp blue-sky days, easy access to some of New Zealand’s finest ski and snowboard terrain, and a vibrant après ski scene.

The region’s four ski areas, all within a 20 to 90-minute drive of Queenstown, offer a range of terrain for all levels. With the first snowfall, you can feel the buzz in town as skiers and snowboarders gear up for a season of fun!

The Rees Hotel provides ski rental options and ski locker storage. Equipment and storage options can also be found in Queenstown.

Vineyards

Central Otago produces some of the best Pinot Noir in the world, thanks to the region’s combination of shale soil and sharply defined seasons. And with nearly 200 vineyards within a 1.5-hour drive of Queenstown, wine tours are a great way to explore (and taste) all the area has to offer.

Helicopter Tours

The Rees Hotel takes adventures to new heights by providing access to helicopter tours in Queenstown, Auckland, Taupo, Mt. Cook and Franz Josef.

The Rees Hotel has its own fleet of luxury vehicles for bespoke tours and transfers from Queenstown to Wanaka, Mount Cook, Milford Sound and the West Coast.

His score (which is out of 100) has, over the past 25 years, become a guide to the quality and expense of wines from Bordeaux. The Rees stocks a selection of wines from the different regions of Bordeaux, all of which have achieved a score of 80 or above.
