Worcestershire is renowned for its magnificent Anglican cathedral. It sits on a bank overlooking the River Severn and is a great place to visit during your family stay in Worcestershire. The cathedral draws in hundreds of thousands of visitors every year who are stunned by the beauty of the architecture and fascinated by its history.

Since the 14th century, the cathedral’s main purpose has been as a place of worship and prayer; this remains the same today. It is open to all who want to attend a private prayer service, perfect for taking some time out to reflect. Worcestershire Cathedral has a wealth of history on display, most famous housing the tombs of King John and Prince Arthur.

The cathedral is also a hub for various events, from open days to exhibitions.

For undisturbed beauty, head to the second largest woodland in Worcestershire, Chaddesley Woods National Nature Reserve. Dating back to at least the 13th century, parts of the area are said to have been woodland since the Ice Age!

Walk under the canopy of mighty trees and feel the dappled sunlight on your face during a peaceful stroll. While you’re on your walk, keep a lookout in the leaves for a Worcestershire specialty and national rarity, the insect Land Caddis, which is the only caddisfly to live its entire life on land.
