As the only dog friendly 5 red star resort in Devon, Bovey Castle really is a paradise for dogs and owners alike. Four legged friends are welcomed as soon as they arrive at the hotel and are welcome in all our bedrooms and lodges and once checked in there’s the hotel to explore along with the 275 acre estate. If that’s not enough Dartmoor National Park is on the hotels’ doorstep and we can provide a walks booklet suitable for dogs, starting from the hotel and further afield.

Designed in 1926 by J.F. Abercromby – one of the finest British golf course designers of the last century – the Bovey Castle golf course is a legendary and challenging 18-hole championship course. When first opened in 1930, the course quickly gained national acclaim for its reputation as one of the most enjoyable places to play golf … and nearly 90 years later, it’s still enjoyed just as much.

Discover Elan Spa at Bovey Castle, a secret sanctuary for guests to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Offering bespoke spa experiences and treatments, skilled therapists use ESPA products that are purposefully chosen to relax, revive and restore the body and mind.

Echoing the tranquility and therapeutic flow of the River Bovey, Bovey Castle’s Spa offers restoration with an incredible view. All hotel guests receive complimentary access to Elan Spa facilities.

With 275 acres of Dartmoor National Park on our doorstep, we like to make the most of the outdoors at Bovey Castle. Bovey Castle is home to a variety of furry and feathered friends. You can start your day of activities with meeting the ferrets and chickens then onto the complimentary falconry display on the south terrace to see an amazing array of birds. There is even a Bee Keeping experience where you can taste Bovey honey.

KidsZone

The KidsZone is an innovative play experience where your child’s imagination can run wild! With interactive activities aplenty like dressing up, imagination toys such as a wooden kitchen and crafts. The younger members of the family will be transported to a world of creativity that will capture the interest of all.

TechZone

The TechZone room is designed to provide hours of virtual entertainment whilst staying here at Bovey Castle. Including an Xbox, with more to be announced soon!

Brass Rubbing Trail

Come along and take part in a clue led adventure around the grounds with our brass rubbing trail. Collect brass rubbings as you explore and see some of the other activity areas on the estate.

Bushcraft

The bushcraft survival activity is a chance for the children to learn some woodland skills with our instructors. Including making a fire from scratch, and even how to cook something yummy on it! Building a shelter using the surroundings, learning about animal tracks, plant identification and bushcraft tips and tricks!

Nestled in a sheltered corner of the beautiful gardens of Bovey Castle, lies our long barn lit only by candle light. Our guests are invited to experience the wonderful Devonshire hospitality and tradition! Our cider and sloe gin making lessons start with pressing the apples in the traditional way, guests are given the opportunity to try the finished product from previous guests! We have a variety of flavored gins that we have infused with a variety of different fruits here at Bovey Castle, you can enjoy these and get inspiration to make your own.

The Bovey Shop sells a selection of gifts, children’s toys and games, books and outdoor attire. So, for the shopaholics amongst us, you will find everything you need in our shop from souvenirs to designer items!
